The Corporate & Legal Affairs Executive is responsible for safeguarding the company’s legal compliance and ensuring effective engagement with external stakeholders.
The role encompasses legal advisory, regulatory monitoring, and corporate affairs coordination, including ensuring compliance with tobacco-related regulations and Imperial global compliance standards, while acting as a key bridge between the business and external authorities, industry associations, and advisors.
Principal Accountabilities/Responsibilities
1. Monitor Regulatory Updates
• Monitor industry regulatory developments, government agenda, and draft bill proposals.
• Keep management informed of the latest regulatory status and developments and assess potential business impact.
• Facilitate the development of company positions on industry issues and ensure appropriate precautionary measures are considered.
2. Review of Legal Documents
• Review contracts, agreements, official letters, regulatory submissions, and other legal documents to ensure accuracy, compliance, and risk mitigation.
• Support validation of external communications and official filings before submission to authorities.
3. Participate in Industry NMA
• Represent and actively contribute to relevant industry National Manufacturer Association (NMA) and platforms.
• Provide input for industry discussions and ensure the company’s positions and interests are appropriately presented.
• Monitor industry developments and feedback insights to internal stakeholders.
4. Legal & Compliance
• Ensure compliance with applicable laws, tobacco-specific regulations, and global compliance standards.
• Conduct mandatory product and ingredient reporting as required by regulation.
• Coordinate and support matters related to anti-illicit trade and regulatory reporting requirements.
• Provide practical legal guidance to internal stakeholders where required.
5. External Engagements & Communications
• Develop and maintain effective relationships with government authorities, regulators, and key external stakeholders.
• Manage communication plans relating to company positions when necessary.
• Liaise with leadership and internal stakeholders to align internal and external messaging.
• Support the development and implementation of CSR initiatives to position the company as a responsible corporate entity.
• Other Corporate & Legal Affairs responsibilities in line with business needs.

Essential:
• 3-5 years’ experience in legal, regulatory, government relations, or corporate affairs roles.
• Experience liaising with government authorities on regulatory, licensing, or compliance matters.
• Experience reviewing legal and regulatory documents in Vietnamese.
• Strong understanding of Vietnamese commercial and regulatory framework.
• Knowledge of compliance processes and regulatory reporting requirements.
• Excellent drafting, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to interpret regulatory updates and assess business impact.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and coordination skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• High integrity, discretion, and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in English (written and spoken).
Desirable:
• Experience in FMCG or highly regulated industries (e.g. tobacco, alcohol, pharma).
• Experience participating in industry associations or policy discussions.
• Knowledge of tobacco-specific regulations.
• Familiarity with global compliance standards within multinational companies.
Qualification:
• Bachelor’s degree in law.
• Professional legal qualification preferred.
